Garlick speaks at Young Farmers meeting
The Schulenburg Young Farmers held their monthly meeting on July 25 at 7
p.m. at the Schulenburg Expo Center.
Levi Garlick (left) of the USDA Farm Service Agency in La Grange was the Crider, John Paul Jr.-Unlawful posses-
guest speaker. He was introduced by Chelsea Moeller (right) in the absence
of program chairman Ed Moeller. Garlick talked about the overall help that the
agency provides and gave a very informative discussion on the livestock forage
disaster program, livestock indemnity program and the non-insured crop disaster
assistance program. He explained timeline and deadlines as well as how to go
about getting assistance through the programs. He also gave information on
the county committee elections for 2017. Everyone in attendance enjoyed the
program.The business meeting followed.
The next monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at the Schulen-
burg Expo Center at 7 p.m., and the topic will be the hay show results and hay
production. Mark Vecera is program chairman.
