The Family of Leon H. Langhamer wishes to extend our heartfelt
thank you to all who attended and shared stories and love with us
at the visitation or the funeral services as he was laid to rest on
November 3rd. It has been a time of sadness for our family and
we are so grateful for our good friends, neighbors and family who
shared kindness and prayers with us over the last couple of weeks.
Your visits, cards, calls, donations, food, flowers, texts and com-
forting actions during our time of sorrow meant so much to us.
We would especially like to thank doctors Donald Kocurek, Pa-
mela Slaton, Lillian Diaz, Robert Sickler, Suneesh Nair, and Earl
Mangin for their excellent care over the past years when he was
suffering with COPD. After his fall in October, we appreciate
all the efforts everyone tried at St. Mark's Medical Center in La
Grange, Memorial Herman Southwest Hospital in Houston and
Post Acute Medical (PAM) Specialty Hospital in Victoria. A special
thank you to the EMS crew, along with the first responder who
came to the house when dad fell. Thank you to Kelly Langhamer
who provided extra comfort and care in the ambulance when dad
was transferred from Houston to Victoria. Everyone worked so
hard and was so compassionate and loving and we are grateful
for all you did. It would be remiss of us not to mention the great
care given to him over the last few months by his granddaughter
Deanna Langhamer as she visited and helped him daily.
Thank you to Bryan and Mark Klesel at the Schwenke-Baumgar-
ten Funeral Home for their exceptional service and thoughtfulness
at our time of need. Special thank you to Father Tim Koslerfor the
Anointing of the Sick sacrament and Father Ty Bazar and St. Rose
of Lima Catholic Church for their beautiful services, and to Sarah
Olle and Denise Trojacek for singing at the service, Peggy Kalich
for playing the organ, Emma Schmidt and Ethan Steinhauser for
being Altar Servers, and Suzette Surman for being the Eucharistic
Minister. Thank you to the grandchildren who participated as pall
bearers, lectors, and in placing of the pall and the great-grandchil-
dren who brought up the offertory gifts. Thank you to Mr. Ken-
neth Berger and the Schulenburg Knights of Columbus for their
participation in the services, for use of the hall for lunch after the
services, and for the beautiful condolence plaque presented to
our family. Thank you to Police Chief Troy Brenek and his officers
for escort services from the church to the cemetery.
To all the employees of Leon's Electric and Plumbing, Inc., your
thoughtfulness and kindness will never be forgotten. Dad loved
work and he knows Leon's is in good hands with all of you I
Thank you to Delores Wick at the Flower Box for the beautiful
and creative casket spray and to Koopman's Catering Service for
the delicious lunch. Thank you to the Catholic Daughters and the
Altar Society for helping with the desserts.
We are truly blessed with family and friends who have shown
us comfort and support during this difficult time. May God bless
you all!
