CHRISTMAS PLAY
The Schulenburg High School
theater arts and production classes
will present a Christmas play for
the community, “Yes, Virginia,
There Is A Santa Claus,” on Mon-
day, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
This heartwarming tale is about
a little girl struggling to understand
the magic of Christmas, inspired
by the original editorial by Franci s
P. Church. Dessert will be served
following the performance.

Fayette County 4-H members
participated in the annual Fayette
4-H Council chili cook-off held on
Thursday, Nov. 16 at the Fayette
County Agriculture Building in
La Grange.
Each team was given three
pounds of hamburger meat and
competed to see who could cook
the best chili with beans and the
best chili without beans. There
were also best cornbread and best
dessert categories.
The Flatonia 4-H Club, with
team members Paden Mulholland
and Wade Mulholland, won the
best chili without beans.
The Schulenburg 4-H won
best chili with beans. The team
consisted of Aiden Miksch, L.J.
Schindler and Erica Otto.
The best combread was baked
by Kenzy Hofferek and Shelby
Hofferek of the Winchester 4-H
Club.
The best dessert winner was the
Schulenburg 4-H team of Crocket
Guenther, Kylee Hoffmann, Addi-
son Berckenhoff, Alexis Bercken-
hoff, Zoey Krenek, Brynlee Berger
and Clay Hoffmann.
The chili cook-off was judged
by Levi and Becky Garlick.
The 4-H ’ ers were supervi sed by
adults but cooked the chili on their BEST CORNBREAD

* Entries must be within a 5-mile radius of Schulenburg.
* Judging will be conducted on Friday, Dec. 15th between 6:00pm
and 10:00pm.
* Decisions of the judges are final.
* Winning entries will be photographed on Saturday, Dec. 16dl or
Sunday, Dec. 17th.
