Ever feel like you miss out on his natural belief at the disciples'
all the good stuff? Are you the one “tall tale” that teaches us a great
who always arrives five minutes lesson about faith. Centuries after
after the big event? You're in good that phenomenal Passover week,
company. Think of the disciples we're latecomers too, faced with
asleep on the Mount of Transfigu- the same challenge of believing
ration or snoozing in the Garden without seeing. We need that im-
of Gethsemane. Remember the age of Jesus accepting Thomas in
forehead smacking revelation for his moment of doubt to
two weary travelers on the road
to Emmaus. Scripture is littered
with latecomers, some of whom
steal the show.

During this special Mass, the bishop blessed three oils — the oil of catechumens, the oil of the infirm, and holy chrism— which will be used in the administration |
of the sacraments throughout the diocese for the year. As the oils were blessed, the faithful were invited to turn their hearts to Lord, who bestows His infinite love |
and mercy to them through the sacraments for which these oils will be used. Faithful were invited to also pray for the bishop and the priests who are the ministers ■
of the sacraments in the parishes, that they may be the humble and generous servants of the Lord. !
As priestly vows were renewed and oils were blessed at the Chrism Mass for healing, protection and fullness of life, Bishop Brendan Cahill shared a quote from I
Fr. Charles Kram in his sermon, "The mind is unhindered in its thinking and the will is unhindered in its loving." I
