Two Schulenburg High dou-
bles teams competed at the Re-
gion IV-3 A tournament last week
in San Marcos.
In mixed doubles, Abriel Gar-
cia and Brynlee Hollas won their
first-round match 6-1, 6-3 over
Bannwarth/Guzman of Lyford.
They fell in the second round
6-3, 2-6, 1-6 to Billo/Duprie of
Goliad.
In girls’ doubles, Caroline
Hernandez and Ruth Marquez
were eliminated in the first round
by Grieme/Voss of London by
the score of 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Athletes give back
The Schulenburg ISD Athletic Department’s first
“Big Event” was held Saturday, April 22. Some
110 student-athletes performed service work at 23
locationsthroughoutthecommunity, both on public
property and at private residences for individuals in
need of help. About 30 adult volunteers oversaw
the groups of youngsters.
