Loxooj:, Nov. 13.—A dispatch from
Constantin cpie says that the energetic
action of Sir Ptriilip Curr.e, the British
ambassador to Turkey, has a caused
constmyitiou among the members of

has been done to keep secret the frets of
the outrages. Information from rm-
one Bourei-s tend to prove that the
Saxuu. affair was the must serious.
Another dispatch say* that in neponae
to the protest made by Sir Philip Currie,
British ambassador to Turkey, the ports
haa unreservedly withdrawn the charge
against Mr. Hallward, the British «»•

Losdox. Nov. 19.—A dispatch from
VaruM. Bulgaria, says that despite the
Turkish government's silence, fact*
have oox*d out which leave no doubt
that a maaaacro of Chnatian* has oc-
carrod on a* important a scale as the
butchery of Patak, Bulgaria, whir1
sent a thrill of horror through the civt

the refuaal of the Armenian* to pay tax
on th* plea, probably well founded,
that the frequent Kurdish raid* bav*

wero sent to collect th* taxes were
beaten off.
In the meantime ths governor of
Bitiia, Asiatic Turkey, rsported to the
port* that a serious revolt had broken
out and obtained permission to send all
of th* troop* to til* scene. The marshal,
Zrin Pas hi. commander of the Fourth
army corps, stationed at Etringen. was
ordered to proceed thither and direct
operation. Before thia opposing army

Now come* th* horrible part of th*
story. Th* governor of Bitlis refused

They only desisted when 2i i "

Mr. Hallward, the British consul at
Van, proceeded to the scene and then
reported to th* British ambuwador at
Constantinonls. who protested to th*
