ael'x Fereiii, with which the Ex-
ec u Live Committee was likewise
entrusted at Seguin. It had first to
be decided whether wo wore to join
the >St. Ilaphael'fi Verein in New
York or establish an independent
society of our own. The next
step was to find a suitable and

ed meetings of the societies at:
Shiner, String Prairie and Red
Rock, and delivered short ad-
dresses there. The invitations
to the annual'cinvention as well
us copies of a proposition to
change the constituiion were
sent to all affiliated societies, as
well as to those at Nazareth,
Frelaburg, Honey Creek and El-
linger, and to a gentleman known
to me at Pisnlersville, 8S,
Peter and Paul’s Society of
Frelsburg and the S.icred Heart
Youths' Society of Honey Creek
applied at once for membership,
and after having their constitu-
tions examined by the Rev, Spir-
itual Director ’;hey were admit-
ted subject to the ratification of
the Kerfmarf, Of the other so-
cieties the one st 'Galveston, St. '
Vincent de Paul’s, has not re-
ported to date, and the UeMaacl

Most of the delegatee had to
pass through San Antonio and
many of them arrived isn the city
on Monday, These wore rovaliy
entertained by the mornbere of
et. Joseph’s Society at their hall
on Monday evening. On Tues-
day morning there wae another
large influx of visitors. At 9
o cknik ail th a dtalegatg#, visiting
und local, together with quite a
number of friends and a baud of
music, left on the 9 o’clock train
for Laconic—the nearest railway
elation to Castroville. Fully fifty
vehicles were in waiting there to
convey them the remaining six
miles of their journey,
At Castroville a warm welcome
awaited the party. The clergy
wars conveyed to the parochial
residence, to be guests of' the
pastor. Rev. John Kirch, during
their stay. Ample provision had
been made to entertain the lay
visitors at the homes of Catholic
families in the town,
