One of the curious old mounds left
by n primeval race in thia country was
demolished the other day at Columbus,
C., to make way for the march of mod-
em improvements in the shape of a
traction line. Prof. Moorehead, of the
state university, was cn hand to see
what relics of antiquarian interest the
mound contained, and wna rewarded
by obtaining what he asserts to be the
finest skeleton of a mound builder in
existence. It is supposed to be the re-
mains of some grpat chief. It had been
buried lying on the back with one baud
under the head and the other lying on 1
