lishment of vegetative coverage to control soil erosion, prevent
the movement of silt, provide some cover and food for wildlife,
and erase unsightly conditions caused during repair work on
flood water retarding structures Sites 4, 5, and 9 in Comanche
County, Texas.

and 9-7 over Pilot Point in the
semifinal game Saturday.
Leading in tackles for De Leon are
Clint Caraway with 143, Casey Stone
with 129, and Randy Turner with 125.
Quarterback Aaron Saldivar has
completed 60 of 126 passes for 1,158
yards. Brandon O’Donald is the key
receiver, having caught 38 for 697
yards and 12 touchdowns. Greg
George leads in rushing yardage
with 1,139 and 20 TD’s, Jason Clark-

Farley was named this week as an
all-stater at defensive back, where
he has intercepted seven passes this
year.
For the second year, Groveton’s
lineman, Charles Cockrell (6-3,250),
was an all-state selection. The
Indians’ line averages over 200
pounds. Other linemen are Lonnie
Winters, Billy Peterson, Clifford
Moore, (6-3,210), and tight end Dean
Jackson.
Groveton, as a team, averages
397.8 yards rushing each game and
8.8 per carry. They have scored 701
points and allowed 196 points to be
