practiced.
Mr. and .Mrs. Zollie Koonce have
returned from an extended tour of
several western counties. They vis-
ited friends and relatives at Goree
and Matador. They spent several
days with Jim Koonce who formerly
live! in this county.
W. A. Lindley and family visiteel
with his father. Rev. W. M. Lindley
at Eastland Sunday.
There was a large crowd out at
singing Sunday afternoon. A num-
ber were present from neighboring
coin munities. Some songs were sung
in the ne w books. The* class ’ met
Tuesday night at W. R. Guthery’s
for practice. Much interest is being
shown in the singing class.

Although the proceeds from
box supper were small, everyone had
ar( enjoyable time. An average crowd
w^s present. Candied, popcorn and
4 other sweets were sold among the
audience. There were only about one
doxen boxes for sale as many were
busy with their crops at the appoint- ‘
ed time. Miss Dale Reed of this com-
munity and Miss Flora Higginbothain
of Gorman were chosen the two most
beautiful young ladies present. Miss
Reed won the prize cake by seven
Jvotes. The entire proceeds amounted
to about fifteen dollars and will be
used for library equipment.
S. L. Cantwell, who with his son,
Raymond, have been away on bus;-;
ness, returned last week bringing
with them a 12-lb. fish caught in the
Colorado River.
Miss Agnes and Connie Johnston
of Gorman spent the past week visit-
ing with their sister, Mrs. H. H.
Echols.
Mr. B.C. Thompson was in Fort'
Worth Thursday visiting his brother,
Ambrose Thompson who is in a ser-
ious condition, suffering with a car-
buncle on the back of his neck.
Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Breedlove and
daughter and Mr. Johnston of
Soda Springs community spent the
weekend visiting friends and’ -relatives
here.
C. T. Nabors happened to a very
painful accident when his hand was
caught in a hay bailer.

Echols Thursday. Mr. Dossett re- |
mained for a few week’s visit with his j
daughter, Mrs. Echols, and pther
latives and friends.
Sunday is “Singing Day" at this
place and everyone is invited to come.
