cute and deliver to Van M.Smith a certain deed of conveyance wherein the party first named
did convey to the party last named the following described tract of land,to-wit:-Lot
two(2),of the Sub-division of the J.C.Wilson Homestead
William Gannon League,in Travis County,Texas.And Whereas,as a part consideration for said
land the said Van M.Smith did execute and deliver nine (9)certain promissory noteJfor the
of Five Hundred($500.00)Dollars each bearing even date with said deed and payable to
Jose Rodriguez,due one to nine years after date respectively,which notes

(16) in Block No. Thirty(30)of Travis Heights Subdivision of a part of the Isaac Pecker
League in the Southeastern part of the City of Austin,Travis County,
of said subdiTi sion of record in the

note in the sum of Seven Hundred Fifty($750)Dollars,for
which reference is made to deed of conveyance dated July 3rd,1914 and recorded in Book

lien was retained to secure the payment of said note according to its legal tenor and ef-
