It It dtoconcertlng to tee how dtvUtve
the current political climate It
within thia country. But, that to the
nature of politics and some things
will probably never change. What Is
perhaps even more disconcerting
than the political dlvistvenes* to that
supposed religious issues oftentimes
seem to be at the center of these
debates. Some of these people who
claim to be men and women of God
attack their political rivals in ways
that are certainly not models of
Christian charity, let alone models
of political civility. Perhaps what
aaimatea these well-intentioned
people is the conviction that they are
right and that they are waging a battle for the sake of righteousness. We
would all do well to remember that the good example of quiet and humble
actions vaaks louder than oeif righteom words or doctrine, and that when
religion to used as a weapon to attack our enemies, It to no kmger true
religion. All true religion to about love, whose primary goal to to unite. That
which seeb to divide to strife, and strife to the oppotite of love.
