dist Episcopal church and will give
his whole time to this place. Rev.
Boycourt of Kansas has been placed
in charge of the work at Pearland and
Arcadia.
Mr. Richard Spencer of Grand
Rapids, Mich., has purchased twen-
ty acres of land from Mr. S. B.
Brown in the west end of Alvin,
and will move his family here soon.
Mr. Spencer says he is well pleased
with the Alvin coast country.
Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Brice of Blue
Rapids, Kans., are visitors ia Alvin
this week, Mr. Brice is an old
newspaper man in the Safflowers
State, and bis visit to this of ice was
very much appreciated. Mr. and
Mrs. Brice will spend the winter in
the coast country.

months ago on account of health,

east of town, has been engaged by
Grace Episcopal church to preach

The lecture Tuesday night by
Flavius Brobst was not as well at-
tended as was expected. A parr of
the proceeds were to be uwed for the
public school library, and t was the
desire of those who were instrumental
in having Dr. Brobst visit Alvin, to
have a crowded house, t uc the net

enough to cover expenses.

weeks ago, and money just as hard
