ANGLETON.
Angleton 'l imes.
dipt. Wm. McMaster, once an old
1 c tizen of Brazoria, died in San An-
tonis on th? 9th. He was a veteran
V' the Texas war for itifdependence,
tPie Mexican and civ 1 wars. He was
t!4s next to the last participant in
the battle of San Jacinto tu pass'
away.
Willie Diggs,
and hilled by ]
xv^ro. at Brazoria last Thursday.
The examining trial was held at Bra-
soria "Monday and Flannel was re-
manded to jail without bail. The
shooting grew out of a misunder-
standing and a qnarrel.
Contributions are being raised to
defray the expenses <>f two delegates
to t.h« Confederate reunion at Rich-
mond, Va.. on the 28th. The list has
been subscribed to liberally and the
ne cessary amount will be raised.
W alter Kennedy of Angleton, and
Major J. W. Hanks of Columbia,
both of whom have seen service on
the fields of Virginia, have been/
selected as the delegates.
Judge Norman G. Kltrell of thef(.
sixty-first district court granted an
injunction against the officers of Bra-
zoria county restraining them from ■
making any further complaints
against J. T. Gothard, a dealer in the
drink Hiawatha at Angleton. The
complaints that have been filed
againt the *aid Gothard allege on in-
formation that the drink is intoxiy
casing and has been sold in violation
of the prohibition law to citizes oi
Angleton. As the matter is disputed^
question of fact, d.o testimony has!
been offered and no examining trial
ha* been held, the injunction was
granted. [
