be the first woman to serve as a county judge in the State
of Texas, took over the office left vacant by the death of
her husband. Judge O. K. Phillips. A reconihiendalion
will be made by the taxpayers union for a candidate to fill
out the unexpired term after an election March 1.
This is the second time that the office of Brazoria
county judge has act a precedent.
