Gene Smith of White’s Plant World made
sure everyone knew about his new
grandbaby with the billboard display in
front of his business and a sign downtown.
Watermelon feast
Parents coaches and
athletes, were treated to
all the watermelon they
could eat Thursday,
August 27, at Owl
Stadium.
The purpose of the
feed which was
obviously a success was
to acquaint Athletic
Boosters with Joshua’s
program and urge
support
membership
Booster Club.
An entire pickup truck
load of ice cold
watermelon , was
devoured by the crowd.
Many of the athletes
loved the event so much
not only did they eat to
their hearts’ content, but
they wore portions
home.
This reporter saw
watermelon everywhere
from hands and mouths
to hair, ears, shoes and
even shorts.
