areas including school sites and play-
grounds.
The new ordinance has specific
security measures for during drilling
operations and one after the well has
been drilled.

A Johnson County Sheriffs
Office detective seeking political
office recently received the offi-
cial endorsement
of the Burleson
Police Officers
Association.
Sgt. Wes
Rouston, president
of the association,
said the endorse-
ment was awarded
to Dusty Ford, can-
didate for the office of constable
for Precinct 2. Ford received the
endorsement after he and sever-
al other candidates attended a
meeting with the association. At
the meeting, candidates shared
their political thoughts and views
on local issues.
“[Ford] has our endorse-
ment,” Rouston said. “We are for
him.”
Ford said he was happy to
receive the endorsement from
one of the largest police officer
associations in the county and
the largest in Precinct 2.
“It’s kind of a vote of confi-
dence that fellow police officers
see me of high enough moral
standing and have a belief that I
can confidently do the job,” Ford
said. “I’m excited about the fact
