building a farm pond. The local

man; Mrs. Arthur Friemel, Scout
leader of Troop 4; Mrs. Robert J.
Kallus, Brownie Scout leader; and
Mrs. Oliver Hengst, assistant Brow -
nie leader, attended a Christmas
Art and Crafts workshop at Giddings.
Those attending reported it to be
very interesting and that they saw
many beautiful arts and crafts.

servation Districtis one of the 181
Soil Conservation Districts in Tex -
as comprising 98%of the total land
area. These 181 Soil Conservation
Districts, including the Fayette
SCD, are governed by 905 elected
landowners actively engaged in __
farming or ranching. The end ob-
. ?jective of every Soil Conservation
District is "Every landowner or
operator a Conservation Farmer. "

in the Cummins Creek Watershed.
Remember Jan. 10, 1961, is elec-
tion day. The annual directors'
election will be held on the sec-
ond Tuesday in January. Polling
places will be located at Round
Top and Fayetteville.
Oscar W. Albrecht, a district
/ooperator near Willow Springs,
zhas planted 25 acres of Winter peas
and 18 acres of Hubam clover .
Albrecht is using Hubam and Win-
ter peas as soil improving crops in
his conservation cropping system.

Otto and Clara Breitkreuz, west
of.Ammannsville, had 14 acres of
Sweet clover last year which they
used as their soil improving crop

tern. The Breitkreuz's also reno-
vated 7.acres of pasture and seeded

Theodore E. Muras, northwest
of Ammannsville, had 8 acres of
Hubam last year which he used as
