Murphy, District Manager for

who have completed 10, 20 and
30 years of service under the
sign of the Flying Red Horse.
In making his presentation
Mr. Murphy pointed out that
the dealers, as independent bus-
inessmen, are a fine example of
the success of America’s free
enterprise system wherein a
man can get ahead by his own
efforts. Mr. Schlabach received
a silver plaque for 10 years of
service to the motoring public;
Messrs. Minssen, Vavra and Pa-
gel received bronze plaques for
20 years of service.
Lutheran Indies Meet
The monthly meeting of the
Lutheran Ladles Aid Society
and W. M. F. was held at the
church Wednesday with a large
attendance. The meeting was
called to order by the chairman,
Mrs. A. J. Bunjas. It was opened
with singing birthday hymns
for mesdames W. Meinen, Char-
lie Stoelke, Ann Kiel, Mrs.
Woelber and Mrs. Wolle. Mrs. R.
R. Kubena read the scripture
while Mrs. Chester Cordes led
in prayer. The outlook was dis-
cussed by Mrs. Wolber who also
asked the Bible quiz questions.
Rev. Wolber explained the Bible
Study. The Thanksgiving chair-
man reported that offerings a-
mounted to $49 89. Mrs. Stoelke
and Mrs. Stoelke and Mrs. Bun-
jes on the convention held in
Brenham.
Mrs. Wolber is planning on
showing some slides on Missio-
nary work in connection with
next months Luther League ga-
thering. The Annual
Festival will be held

The regular monthly meeting
of the Parents Teachers Club
was held on Friday, Nov. 13 at
7:45 in the Gym. Due to the ab-
sence of the chairman, H. B.
Gresser, the meeting was called
to order by the vice-chairman,
Mrs. E. A. Baca and
with a prayer by Mrs.
Norwood. A new secretary was
elected and Mrs. Glen Pflugh-
aqgt will fill the office vacated
by Mrs. E. H. Koehl, who with
her family moved to Rosenberg.
It was moved and carried that
the club will meet on every sec-
ond Friday of the month at 7:-
30 PM. Other items of business
were discussed after which the
club adjourned. A social follow-
ed and delicious refreshments
were served. •

Died In Houston
Mrs. Leonara fichamberg
(nee Simmons) 82 passed away
at her home in Houston Wed-
nesday. Funeral services were
held in Houston Friday morn-
ing with Interment in the Shel-
by cemetery at 2 PM beside her
husband, Hugo Schamberg, who
preceded her* In death * number
of years ago. Mrs. Schamberg
was an aunt of Mayor Lee Hein-
sohn.

Hugo Sctyrnidt of here attended
the funeral of Otto Schmidt at
Alice’ last week. Mr. Schmidt
was a brother of Hugo Schmidt
and Mrs. Giebel, and had friends
here who were sorry to learn of
his death.

Mrs. Selma Fritsch entertain-
ed the 42 Club at her home
Thursday afternoon at the regu-
lar table social. After the usual
number of games were played
the hostess served delicious re-
freshments.
Shower
Miss Lillie Shimek was the
honoree at a miscellaneous
shower Sunday evening at the
receratlon hall with her brides-
maids as hostesses. The honoree
received many lovely and useful
gifts. After they were displayed
and admired refreshments were
served to a large number of re-
latives and friends.
Miss Shimek will become the
bride of Leroy Krenek on Nov.

night will be the Rev. Haskin
V. Litfie', Rector of St. An-
drew’s Church in Houston. It
will be the Rev. Mr. Little’s sec-
ond visit to St*. James’ this
year, the first being to present
the Rev. Mr. Lockhart for Or-
dination last July.
The Preaching Mission is an
opportunity to think and to
pray through the great funda-
mental truths of the Gospel,
mainly through the medium of
preaching, each evening’s mes-
sage building on the one before.
The people of La Grange, and
surrounding communities are
cordially invited to attend.

ground in Mission Preaching, (
