and Tuesday with people calling
during the two day occasion.
Rites Heid for Infant
Graveside services were held
at 5 p.m. Sunday at the La Grange
City cemetery for Debra Lynn
Mischer, infant daughter of Mr. and
Mrs'. Gilbert Mischer of Olden-
burg, who was born dead earlier
that day at Fayette'Memorial Hos-
pital. Rev. H. T. Flachmeier off-
iciated.
Surviving are the parents of
La Grange; one sister, Diana Ma-
rie and the grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Rudolph FriemelofLa Grange.

A one car accident early Wed-
nesday morning took the lives of
a Houston couple. They were 30-
year-old Woodie Paul Vaughn Jr.
and his 31 year old wife, Dar-
lene.
The accident occured about 2:30
a.m. a half mile east of Kirtley
The driver of the car apparently
went to sleep, causing the car to
run into a ditch and overturn.
Judge Zouzalik of Flatonia and
Deputy Sheriff August Bruenerheld
the inquest and ruled death at the
scene.
Patrolmann Hall, of La Grange
was called to the scene and invest-
igated the accident.
This raises the death toll in
Fayette County to 17 for 1963.
Vaughn was a clerk for a Houst-
on Department store.

Girl Scout Cadettes
Make Many Happy
At Christmas
The Cadette Girl Scout Troop
No. 3, of La Grange made cand-
les and center-pieces for Christ-
mas this year. Each Cadette Sc-
out baked cookies, candies, etc.
and a huge box of goodies was
packed and delivered to the Fay-
ette Memorial Hospital Staff.
Then on Dec. 20, they had their
Christmas party, with refresh-
ments consisting of assorted cook-
ies, chips, tuna sandwiches, pic-
kles and cokes. Then they gath-
ered around the tree and exchanged
their gifts.
Before departing for the holidays
each Cadette Scout named three
things that they were especially
thankful for in 1963.
Their next meeting will be Fri-
day, Jan. 3 at the Girl Scout Hut
at 3:45 til 5 p.m.

JASTER PASSES AWAY
Fritz R. Jaster 72, of Carmine
died at the Brenham Rest Home
Friday, Dec. 20, at 5:40 p.m.
Mr. Jaster was born Feb. 8,1891
son of the late Adloph and Fred-
ericke Korth Jaster. ,He was bap-
tized on Oct. 15, 1899, by Rev.
A. Weighart and was confirmed in
Feb. 1921. at the Evangelical Luth-
eran Church of Round Top by Rev.
A. H. Falkenburg and received his
education at the Hills school.
He was married to Miss Alma
Plueckhahn on Dec. 14, 1920, at
Round Top. She preceded him in
death on Nov. 18. 1949. A veteran
of World War I he served over-
seas in Germany and France with
the infantry. Efe spent most of his
life engaging in farming near Ca-
rmine and lived in semi-retire-
ment since 1945 at Carmine. He
was a member of the Martin Luther
Lutheran Church of Carmine. A'
member of the Quade-Werchan
Post No. 338, a member of the.
Barracks Post No. 1611, member
of the Chamber of Commerce of Arthur Ullrich. Mrs. Lena Wag-
Carmine, member of the Carmine.
Fire Department and also a mem-
ber of the Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include a son Elvis
F. Jaster of Brenham, two grand-
daughters, Judy and Jane Jaster
and one sister Mrs. Gus Rachui
all of Brenham. Three brothers
Walter Jaster of Caldwell, Arthur
of Giddings and Leo Jaster of To-
mball.
Funeral services were held at
the Martin Luther Lutheran Ch-
urch of Carmine. Sunday at 2 p.m.
with Rev. A. M. Ehnnemann off-
iciating.Burial *as in the La
Bahia Cemetery where he was laid Herbert Noak, during the Christ-
to rest by the side of his wife.
The Quade-Werchan Fbst No.
338 conducted Military services at
the graveside. ,
Rillbearers were Nelson E. Kr-
ause, W. O. Ranch, Audrey Mar-
kwardt, Roland Markwardt, C. W.
Wagner and Edwin L. Jaster all
