ling of Alleyton are the happy par-
ents of a baby girl born Friday,
Feb. 21 in the Columbus Hosp-
ital She weighed 6 lbs. and will
answer the the name of Kimberley
Kay.
Grandparents for the first time
are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Turner
of Brentwood, N. Y. and Mr. and
Mrs. Herbert Kiesling of Fayett-
eville. Great grandparents areMr.

Mrs. Caroline Kamarad also of
N. Y. The mother is the former
Ella Turner.
P-TC MEETING
The St. John’s P-TC of Fayett-
eville met Monday evening. A com-
mittee was appointed by the vice-
president. Johnnie Becka to clean
the recreation hall. As chairman
Mrs. Vincent Llska and Mrs. Le-
roy Sula as co-chairman. It was

The Queen’s Contest will be the
main project again this year, fur-

the Bible study after which the men
joined the ladies for a social and
refreshments.

also place flowers in church dur-
ing March and April.

led the opening prayer. Miss Jec-
menek also acted as secretary-
treasurer in the absence of Mrs.
George Kristek.

ayer was given and Mrs. Joe El-
sik announced that Monday after-
noon would be church cleaning

Round Top-Carmine copped the
district 69-B girls basket ball
championship by squeezing past a
determined Fayetteville team 51-
50 in a spine-tingling hard fought
contest at the Marie Heineke Me-
morial Gym at Blinn College tn
Brenham Tuesday night Feb. 25.
The victory gave Rt-C undisp-
uted possession of first place in
a dlst r ict that ended the season with
three teams tied for first with
identical 10-2 won-loss records.
In the first round of rhe playoff.
Fayetteville defeated Snook 40-30
while RT-C drew a bye.
Found Top-Carmine jumped to
a 13-9 lead in the first period
and the halftime score read 23-
15 for RT-C. By the end of the third
period. PT-C had stretched Its
lead to 10 points at 38-28. But
the last period was all Fayette-
ville as the Lionettes produced a
22 point rally that drewthem with-
in one point of RT-C. With 2 se-
conds remaining on the clock, Fay-
etteville regained possession of the
ball but failed to make the long
desperation shot as the buzzer
sounded the end of the game RT-C
51, Fayetteville 50.
The difference was at the foul
line as RT-C completed 17 out
of 28 free throws for 61 percent
while Fayetteville could make only
nine out of 18 charities for 50
percent. Pacing RT-C to victory
were Lana Jean Behnke and Mar-
ilyn Aschenbeck, with 20 points
each and Carol An Goebel with
11, Leading Fayetteville were Ca-
rolyn Heinsohn 19 points, Jane
Rhode with 18 points followed by
Lorine Zenkner with 12.
Playing their nsual good game on

Candy Doerr, Betty Havemann and
Doris Aschenbeck.
The victory puts Coach Reuben
Wunderlichs cubbies in a bi-dist-
rict tilt with Friendswood. That
contest will he held Tuesday, Ma-
rch 3, at 8 p.m. in the John Fos-
ter Dulles Gym In Stafford.
DAUGHTER PASSES
Mrs. Joseph Stanley (Hulda) Po-
rtell. 39, daughter of Mrs. Hulda
Lummer and the late Thomas F.
Limmer of Carmine, passed away
Feb. 11, in rhe St. Johns Mercy
hospital- in Festus. Miss, after a
lingering illness. The deceased
was born in Brenham, Dec. 22,1924
'he had lived in Missouri for
14 years and was a member of the
Immanuel LutheranChurchofCry-
stal Ciry Miss.
Her husband Joseph Stanley Po-
rtell died Nov. 19, 1962.
Survivors are her three children
Tommy Joe , Beverly Ann and Do-
nna Marie, all at home. Her mother
Mrs. Hulda Limmer of Carmine,
two sisters Olivia Mrs. James
SchamNiss of Sanford Florida, and
Tillie Mrs. James Stallings of
Huntsville, Texas and a brother
Paul Limmer of Carmine.
The body was in state at Win-
yard Funeral Home where it was
taken to Immunaul Lutheran Ch-
urch at Crystal Ciry with Services
Saturday at 2 p.m. Burial was
in the Festus Methodist Cemetery,
yrs. Lirnrner her mother was ar
her bedside for almost 3 months.
She returned home last week.
NEW ARRIVAL
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Koester
of near here, became the proud
•parents of a baby girl born at
the Milroy Hospital in Brenham.
Friday. Feb. 21 at 10;31 p.m.
She tipped the scales at eight
pounds. 2 ounces and will answer
to the name of Debbie Nell. Wei- •
coming her are her two sisters,
Karen and Janice, her brother
Kieby Lee her grandparents. Mr.
and Mrs. Abert Dornhoefer of
Burton.
RECEIVES FRACTURE
Mrs. Nora Heinsohn. was rushed
to the Milroy Hospital in Brenham
last week after she fell at the home
at her duaghter and son-in-law.
