The senior class of 1961 of the
St. John’s Catholic School receiv-
ed their rings in a ceremony at the
church. Rev. T. J. Matl gave a
sermon explaining the significance
’61 Class
Miss Bernice Gerik of Huntsville
at as the maid of honor and brides-
maids were Miss Vivian Zatopek,
Miss Emily Kuhn, a sister of the
groom, and Miss Adeline Jurajda
all of Houston and Miss Patsy Bal-
zer of Austin. They were dressed
in candlelight beige crystal peau
de soie with a fitted bodice, fea-
turing a rounded neckline embell-
ished with beaded lace roses and
ihirred sleeves. The street-length
ikirt was sprinkled with beaded rose
appliques. Back interest of th e
skirt was a sash with the samd
appliques of lace. Their headpiece
was a snug demi-hat fashioned
with three tapered points. The cen •
ter point was adorned with a tear-
drop. They carried a bouquet of
bronze spiaer mums mingled with
croton leaves and completed with
a burnt orange ribbon.

groom of Cat Spring.
Ushers were LeRoy Canik of New
Ulm, and Lyttle ton Fritsch of
Ellingen Alois Henneke of Frels-
burg and Robert F. Andrews Jr., a
brother -in -law of the bride of Hous -
ton were the witnesses.
A reception was held at the Ellin-
ger C. of C. hall. Guests were
registered by Mrs. Robert S. An-
drews Jr., sister of the bride ot
Houston, and Miss Beth Blanton of
Houston, registered the gifts.
Mrs. JerrydenePolasek, Mrs. "Son-
ny" Ballard, Mrs. Alfred Lee Mar-
ek, and Mrs. Andrews served the
cake and punch.
The wedding cake was an all-
white four tiered confection. It
was decorated with pale yellow
sugar spun roses and wedding bells
and was topped with a miniature
bride and groom and wedding bells.
The cake was encircled with a
white tulle ruffle. Arrangements
of white spider mums, and gladiolas
were placed on either side of th e
cake.
A dance was held in honor of the
couple with music being provided
by Adolph Migl. Mr. and Mrs .
Leslie Cordes led the march.
For travel the bride chose a three
piece navy blue silk linen suit with
navy and white accessories.
The couple will make their home

Receives Rings
Salvation Army Fund
Drive to Kick-Off
Tuesday, Oct. 4
With Walter H. Mueller as
campaign chairman, volunteer
workers will meet at 7:15 a. m.
Tuesday Oct. 4 at the Lester Ho-
tel to officially kick-off the An-
nual Salvation Army Fund Drive.
Over the past year the local
Salvation Army committee has
helped many families and indi-
viduals in need in various Fay-
ette County committees.
Working with Mr. A. R. Ehlers
and Mr. Wm. Hofmann who head
the committee are Mr. Leon J»o-
senberg treasurer, Mr. Charles
Lemmons and Mr. Leon Schmidt.
In Schulenburg Mrs. Ray Kusey:
in Flatonia Mr. R. D. Zapalac
and K. E. Woody; in Fayetteville
Mr. John Cufr and Ed. Sarrazin
and in Ellinger Mr. Ed. Tobias.
Mr. Rosenberg, treasurer, re-
ported he has less than $50.00 in
the bank so the committee de-
cided to go ahead immediately
with its fund raising campaign
in or that it may help deserving
welfare cases that are bound to
of their rings.

To Have Feast
Sunday, October 2
Father Francis Smerke, pastor of
Holy Rosary Church, Hostyn, is
• hopeful that the parish feast, to be
• held next Sunday, Oct. 2, will be
attended by a record crowd.
Dinner will be served at 11 a. m.
Fried chicken and sausage, cakes
and koiaches are only a few items
on the menu.
For entertainment, the Lone Star
Brass Band will play during the day
and there will be a wide variety
of other entertainment.
Supper is at 5 p. m. and Sil Kren-
ek's orchestra will be featured for
the dance, starting at 8 p. m.

groom. Her bouquet was of white
ipider mums and stephanotis cen-
tered with a white orchid.

A rehearsal supper was held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Stibora.
The menu consisted of fried chick-
en and sausage and all the trimm-
ings. Hostesses were Mrs. Frank
Lave, Mrs. Leo J. Kuhn and Mr s .
Stibora. Gifts were presented to
the attendants.
Glendeline Stibora Weds Anthony Kuhn
In Double Ring Ceremony in Ellinger
Miss Glendeline E. Stibora be-
came the bride of Anthony A. Kuhn
in a double ring ceremony per-
formed in the St. Mary’s Catholic
Church near Ellinger on Saturday ,
Sept. 17, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev.
Francis Kolar performed the cere-
mony before altars decorated with
arrangements of white spider mums
and glads.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and
Mrs. Ed. M. Stibora of Ellinger
and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kuhn of Cat
Spring.
Miss Joyce Hrachovy provided the
traditional wedding music.
The bride was given in marriage
by her father. She wore a gown
