MEET MON. NIGHST

The Fayette County Unit of the
Texas State Teachers Association,
meeting in La Grange Monday
night, Sept 26, discussed var-
ious items of business and made
plans for the current year.
Meeting dates for the remainder
of the year will be Nov. 28 in La
Grange, Feb. 13 at Schulenburg
which will be the annual dinner
meeting, and March 27, 1961, at
La Grange.
Fayette Unit President Rober t
Knapik of Schulenburg, presided
and stated that all Fayette County
public schools have 100 per cent
membership in the TSTA.
The group viewed the movie ,
" The Teacher Alone, " which
brought out die advantages of be-
longing to the National Education
Association and encouraged teach-
ers to join the NEA.
P. C. Hickman of Flatonia was
elected first vice president of the
group to succeed George Clark of
Flatonia who moved out of the
county. Edgar Mayer of La Grange
was elected second vice president
to succeed Mrs. Johanna Heise who
was unable to serve.
Following the meeting, refresh-
ments were served by the Schulen-
burg teachers.
