Fayette County's 33rd Annual Fair
The 33rd annual Fayette Coun-
ty Fair will open for a three-day
run on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.
m. .

exhibits. Other events on that day
begin at 2 p. m. with the beef cat-
tle judging, and swine judging to
follow in both adult and junior div-
isions. There will, of course, be
entertainment on the grounds al)
day.
Fair. Sheriff T. J. Flournoy and
W. P. Jacob are the co-chairmen
and Martin Manuel, a member, of
the booster tour committee. The
Radio Station KVLG sound truck
will accompany the boosters. Days
of the tour will be Monday, and
Tuesday Sept. 19 and 20.
Some changes were also noted
at the Thursday night meeting. The
Junior division livestock will not
be judged Saturday as announced
in die fair catalog, but with adults
in beef, swine, sheep and poultry.
One junior dairy stock will show
Saturday, Sept. 24.
The schedule for Friday, Sept.
23, the day when all school children
will be admitted free, follows: 10
a. m., adult and junior sheep and
goat judging, and adult division of
open dairy shop; 1 p. m. adult
Boutih-Central Texas Jersey Dis-
trict show and judging; 3 p. m., La
Grange High School Band Concert;
3:30 p. m. drawing for school chil-
dren’s prizes; 7:30 p. m., rodeo;
and 9 p. m., dance at the Fair
Pavilion.
Also on tap for Friday afternoon
is a downtown parade. It is in-
tended to invite riding clubs from
Schulenburg and other area towns.
Invitation is also to be extended
the Taylor High school band to play
in the concert along with the LHS
band.
On Saturday, Sept. 24—10 a, qi-
junior dairy judging contest; 1 p.
m., judging of junior division dairy
show; 7:30 p. m. rodeo; and 9 p.
m„ dance at Fair Pavilion.
Concessions and games, as well
as carnival attractions will bw av-
ailable all three days at grounds.
In addition to this, two clowns will
be on the grounds to provide en-
tertainment and dispense toy bal-
loons.

Has Meeting
The La Grange Chamber of
Commerce held their regular
monthly meeting on Monday night,
Sept. 12.
"Die Chamber voted to indorse
any bill that Would be presented
the State legislature concerning tKe
eradication of brucellosis and for
a pilot test on the screw worm.
It was reported that the road
signs advertising Monument Hill
are expected to be erected just as
soon as the sites have been select-
ed.
The name of Robert E. Fredrich
of Ledbetter was drawn for the at-
tendance award. He was not pre-
sent, therefore $25 carries over the
next meeting.

A variety of games, concessions,
pony rides, and a dance are on the
agenda. Music for the dance will
be by Fred Heine Jr„ and His
Western Melody Kings, a rock and
toll band from Bryan.
Lawrence Adamcik, president of
the Jaycees, said that the event is
being staged in order that the or-
ganization could raise some funds
which they will use in their con-
tinued project of community bet-
terment.

Jaycee’s Harvest Carnival Is Saturday

section. So it will be a ‘‘first come,

The La Grange Leopards will in-
vade Hornet territory in Caldwell end, Charles Matejowsky;
Friday night, Sept. 16, where they
will be looking for their third win
|h»s season. The spirited Leps
came out 34-8 victors with Hal-
lettsVile in the season's epener and
last week on their home field.
Caldwell has won one and lost
one for an even record. They dropp
ed their ?pener to Madisonville by
the score of 25--0, and beat the
