Days when you’re not at
work may provide just the
right time to indulge yourself
a little. Afternoon tea in a
posh hotel may be the latest
rage. You can do the same
thing at home. It’s a gracious
way of entertaining, and it
can also be inexpensive.
Perhaps more importantly, it
can be an easy party to pre-
pare. So call up your best
friends, bake a few fine cakes
and cookies, and give yourself
and your friends an entertain-
ing and relaxing treat around
a cozy hearth. A pleasant chat
may revitalize you all for
whatever work lies ahead.

Just Ramblin’
By Jimmye Taylor’
Where, oh, where is my beautiful
October? What’s happened to the
tart, tangy, crisp autumn smell in
the air? All I smell is mildew!
Where are the changing colors of
the trees as they blushingly shed
their raiment? and the bright blue
skies so touted in poetry and prose?
I guess you, might say October
“drownded”! ' «•
Everything is .srnushy, mushy,
murky, and gray — including the
consistently overcast and dripping
sky — and it makes me mad!
October has ever been my favorite
month of the year, but this year,
October has been the pits! Thank
you, we’ve had enough rain. Now
could we please have sunshine?
Borrowed the following from On the
Edge of Common Sense, a column
in the Livestock Weekly magazine
by Baxter Black, DVM. I think it is
pretty amusing, and that you will
enjoy it. ; ?
“Will you be able to survive the
1986 agricultural crisis? Here is a
test designed to help you evaluate
your chances. Your answers will
determine whether you are finan-
cially and psychologically fit to
continue. Please circle either A) or
B).
1. My present financial port-
folio includes: :
A. over one milion in land and
livestock
B. a ’72 Ford 3/4 ton, 6 horses
worth 32 cents impound, and a wife
with a job. -
2. Most of my regdy cash is:
A in interest-bearing checking
accounts
B. in a Copenhagen lid on the
bedroom dresser ;•/
3. My banket caSls me:
A. “Misterv
B. every two hours
4. My chances of getting a loan are:
A. sure as the sun rises
B. as good as Slim Whitman
