With this machine, "peanut vines may be dug from the ground, and thoroughly shaken and agitated so as to separate dirt and sand from the vines and nuts, the vines and nuts being bunched and deposited on the ground in piles or heaps for subsequent gathering," (lines 12-17) including illustrations.
