of the invention will be readily apparent, I
desire to have it understood that what is
herein shown and described is merely illus-
trative of the preferred embodiment of the
5 invention and that such changes may be re-
sorted to when desired as fall within the
scope of what is claimed.
What is claimed is
1. A knife sharpener embodying a stock
10 bifurcated at one end to provide spaced por-
tions. a bit secured to each portion, said bits
having convex edges disposed in confront-
ing relation, and means for supporting said
bits for sliding adjustment upon their re-
15 spective portions of. the stock.
2. A knife sharpener embodying a stock
bifurcated at one end to provide spaced por-
tions, the confronting edges of said portions
being convex, a bit for each portion, said
20 bits corresponding in shape to the configura-
tion of said portions and having their con-
vex edges disposed substantially flush with
the corresponding edges of said spaced por-
tions of the steck, and means for supporting
25 said bits for sliding adjustment whereby the
convex edges of the bits may be maintained
substantially flush with the adjacent edges of
said portions in adjusted position.
3. A knife sharpener embodying a stock
30 bifurcated at one end to provide spaced por-
tions, the confronting edges of said portions
being convex, a bit arranged in face to facecontact with each portion, said bits having
convex edges disposed in confronting rela-
tion, a threaded element projecting from 35
each portion, said bits having arcuate shaped
slots receiving said elements, -whereby said
bits are capable of sliding adjustment in a
manner whereby the convex edges are main-
tained substantially flush with the convex 40
edges of the stock, and thumb nuts asso-
ciated with said elements for holding said
bits fixed in their adjusted position.
4. A knife sharpener embodying a stock
bifurcated at one end to provide spaced por- 45
tions, the adjacent edges of said portions be-
ing convex, a substantially U-shaped offset
portion arranged at the opposite end of the
stock, whereby the latter may be arranged
on the edge- of a. support, a clamp screw 50
carried by said U-shaped portion, a bit ar-
ranged in face to face contact with each
of the portions defined by the bifurcation,
said bits having convex edges disposed in
confronting relation, and substantially flush 55
with the adjacent edges of said spaced por-
tions, said bits being mounted for sliding
adjustment, in a manner whereby the.convex
edges of the bits maintain a position substan-
tially flush with the corresponding edges of 6-
the stock, and means for holding said bits
fixed in their adjusted position.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
