The Texas Highway De-
partment Tourist Division had
a photographer in our area
one day last week and spent
several hours at Promontory
Park making pictures. He got
some awfully good pictures
and a lot of credit should go
to our "models,” who were
(kind enough to take their
camper, boat, etc., down to
the lake and spend time get-
ting things "just right" for
him. If you think it is good
to have De Leon on the map
os a tourist attraction, say a
kind word to Mr. and Mrs.
George E. Morris, their two
children, and D’Lana Wilker-

Morris family were here on
vacation from Kermit. Mrs

C of C. Notes -
By Altha Wilkerson
Guess most folks nave not-
iced mau the <J. of C. Notes
have been missing xor the past
few weeas.
Now that the Festival is
over and Ham is better, I
will try to fill in for him as
best I can.
We have had another good
Festival with a lot of people
spending a lot of hours to
make it that way. We had
one couple who came from
Florida and spent th> entu-
week in De Leon. They reaa
about the Festival in the
Texas Calendar of Events, to
which the Chamber of Com-
merce sends the information
on coming events. They left
with such a good impression
that they plan to come tack
next year. Congratulations to
you folks on the Festival
Committee.
The Women's Division of
the C. of C. were hostesses
to another family this year.
They were from Santa Fe, N.
M., and according to one
■statement made in our pres-
ence: "This is the nicest
thing that ever happened to
me. People in Santa Fe are
just not this friendly. I will
remember De Leon and this
event as long as I live."
