4-H Council Meets

The Comanche County 4-H
Council met Saturday morning
January 10, 1959 in the Coman-
che County District Court Room.
The meeting was called to or-
der by the chairman, Nancy
Richmond of De Leon 4-H club.
The 4-H Club motto “pledge
and prayer” was given by
Sarah Lou McCullough and
Grady Hall of Newburg Qub.
At this meeting the new of-
ficers were elected as follows:
Dicky Dickson of the Comanche
4-H CluL, council chairman; Ge-
neva Richmond of the De Leon
4-H Club, vice chairman, Ken
Rachels of the Sidney 4-H Club,
vice chairman; Barbara Harris
of Gustine 4-H Club, sec-treas.;
Sarah Lou McCullough of the
Newburg 4-H Club, was appoint-
ed information chairman.
The out-going officers were:
Nancy Richmond, De Leon;
chairman, Grady Hall, Newburg,
vice chairman, Barbara Harris.
Hazeldeli, vice chairman; Ge-

Christian Service met at the
church January 5th for our first
lesson of our study, “Under-
standing Other Cultures.”
Mrs- Rann, our president, call

Norton gave a very inspiring
devotional scripture reading
from the book of Acte. Mrs.
Donegan led the prayer hymn.
Mrs. Hilda Williams, study
leader, introduced the study and
gave out some quertions to each
member.
Those who gave fine parts on
program were Mrs. P. A: Wil-
liams, Mrs. Jim Martin and Mrs-
J. R. ?tice.

met in regular session Tuesday,
January 6th for the purpose of
installing officers for the ensu-
ing year. Mrs- Geneva Donohue
present Noble Grand was given
special recognition by Mrs. King
for an excellent and complete
report of the years work. Lillian
Buchan was also commended as
she is the present De Leon Dep-
uty President of De Leon Lodge
both will be given special men-
tion at Grand Lodge to be held
in Waco in March for outstand-
ing work.

sisting staff installed the follow-

10 marshmallows % teaspoon cream of tartar
2 teaspoons water 1 teaspoon vanilla

% cup sugar 1 can Angel Flake Coconut
Melt marshmallows with water over hot water. fVwnhina egg
tartar, and vanilla in snail deep bowk nur
well. Add boiling water and beat with sturdy egg beater (or at
high speed of electric beater) until mixture wul stand in stiff
peaks—about 4 minutes. Add melted marshmallowi
about 1 minute longer to blend. Makes about 4 cupa —t——B. w
enough to cover tops and sides of two R-inch layers, gwnsrrwisiy.
Sprinkle top and sides of cake with flaked coconut.

4-H club delegates and presi-
dents.
The groups were led in song
by Kay May and Carol Lee
Steele of the Sidney 4-H Club.
The newly elected officers had
a business discussion with Mr.
Dickson and Mrs- Diddle, while
the delegates adjourned for re-
freshments after which the meet-
ing was called to order by coun-
cil chairman, Dicky Dickson.
Cassie Wilhelm of Comanche
Robert Mathews of Gustin, and
Ken Rachels were appointed to
be on “Share The Fun” plann-
ing committee. It was decided
for the next 4-H Council meet-
ing to be Saturday, February 21
at 10:00 A.M. at the Comanche
County District Court Room.
