The Witness Sunday School
Class met January 9 for a
party at PAR Country Club
and enjoyed charcoal broiled
steaks and all the trimmings.
Games were played later.

a white orchid corsage. Mrs.
Box, mother of the groom,
wore a blue suit with match-
ing accessories. Her corsage
was a white orchid, also.
The altar was banked with
fern set off with large bas-
kets of red anthuriums and
poinsettias. Tall oandelabras
with white tapers flanked the
altar and hurricane lamps
tied with streamers lighted
the center aisle.

elect is attending Weatherford College and the prospective
bridegroom attends the Universityof Texas at Austin, where
member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. The couple
be married Aug. 9 in Couts Memorial Methodist

both on the sick list last

Buddy Hudson will enter
the Stephenville Hospital on
Wednesday for eye surgery.
Mrs. Virgie Rucker and

visited Mrs. Pearl Barnes one
afternoon last week.

Miss Lennetta Sloan became
the bride of Douglas H. Box
on Friday evening. December
27 at 8::00 in the First Bap-
tist Church of De Leon. Rev.
Ralph Heickman performed
the double-ring ceremony
Miss Sloan is the daughter
of Mrs. A. W. Sloan, De Leon,
and Box is the son of Mrs.
W. S. Box. also of De Leon.
Given in marriage by her
brother-in-law, Jim West, the
bride wore a white peau de
sone empire waist dress with
a Chantilly lace bodice. The
dress was accented with seed
pearls and appliqued lace, and
featured a chapel length train
Of peau de sole. Her bridal
bouquet was of orchids and
stephanotis.
' The matron of honor was
the bride’s sister, Mrs. Jim
West. Her dress was red vel-
vet with an empire wait. It
featured a satin band and
covered satin buttons. The
bridesmaids were Sherry
Brush. Nancy Weaver and Su-
san Carruth. They wore red
velvet empire dresses and
tarried bouquets of heart-
shaped anthuriums, imported
from Hawaii.
Roger Craig was best man,
and Deral Brown, Johnny
Neal and Tony Hallmark
were groomsmen. Dennis Ot-
well and Royce Lesley were
