Entertainment
(Too late for last week)
On last Saturday evening the
pretty little home of Mrs. Rpy
Riddel was thrown op> m in honor
of the Seniors of Aspermont
High School, with Miss E Roe-
buck as hostess.
The reception hall, living room
and dining room were attractive-
ly decorated with hearts and
Valentine suggestions.
I'he guests came in masque-
rade costumes, and at first only
silence prevailed whiie all looked
at the well-pla >ned costumes of
the others. Before unmasking
the Gypsy showed Iter skill by
telling the fortune of each guest
She was seated in the dimly
lighted hall and here gave each
a dainty heart beating a cleverly
written message pertaining to
their future.
After unmasking the prize
was given to Pierson Couch for
being the best disguised. Then
a "Toung dance' afforded much
amusement after which broken
heart* were matched for part-
ners in the scramble which wae
soon to follow. The hostess
scattered small white hearts o
the floors and everyone scram-
bled to get the "Lion's" share,
each guest had been asked te
bring a Valentine wrapped neal
and fine, arid now the«e wer*
auctioned off to the highest bid-
der, the one bidding the greatest
number of hearts getting the
Valentine. Then the young men
were given cupuj's >ow and ar-
row, and hearts, each oe&ring
the name of a young lady pres-
ent, were set up for them to
pierce, in this way finding their
partners for refreshments.
Refreshments were served
consisting of first a dainty salad
course, and then all gathered
round the table where punch was
u-tshod, and with Mr. Odor as
Master of Ceremonies, toasts
were given, first to the Seniors
by Mr, Odor, arid then, to "Our
-Superintendent" by Grace Sen-
ter—To the Seniors by Loree
