EDDIE WAYNE ROBINSON,
designated as the "Oukah Ulah,"
my younger brother, died
yesterday afternoon [21 January
2006] about 3:45 PM at a Dallas
Nursing Home. He was born at
Muskogee, OK, the second son
and fifth child of Ross Lee Robinson and Ruby
Arabelle Goss. He was 71 years old and a retired
Professor of Mathematics. He is survived by two
sons in Springfield, MO, and one grandson. He is
scheduled for cremation and his ashes will be taken
to Muskogee where a memorial service will be
scheduled at a later date.

Eddie Robinson made the stars and boxes by hand
which we all enjoyed for the 2006 DGS Annual
Awards Banquet and 50th Anniversary Celebration
in 2005. He was a DGS Life Member since (at
least) 1986.2005-2006

in the Plaza level auditorium,
unless otherwise noted.
DGS GENERAL MEETING
USUALLY MEETS ON THE FOURTH MONDAY
Our monthly meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. with our
speaker presentation to follow about 7:30 p.m.
+ Come early. We begin at 6:00 p.m. with
refreshments and fellowship, and at 6:30 p.m.
everyone is invited to the informal Q & A
session.
At 6:30, Lloyd Bockstruck (or substitute) hosts a
pre-meeting discussion where members andvisitors can ask any genealogically-related
question. We expect that, in any group of Dallas
genealogists, most questions can be answered by
someone in that group. After stopping off in the
East Room for refreshments, see what you can
learn and share. Please, no food or drinks in the
auditorium.

Speaker: Barbara Rust (NARA)
Topic: Using National Archives Records for
Native American Research.
Barbara is on the staff of the Fort Worth Branch of
NARA.
Monday: March 27
Speaker: Jerry C. Drake, MA
Topic: Texas History Month
Jerry is the Director of Archives & Records for the
Texas General Land Office and was a huge hit
when he spoke to DGS last year.AFRICAN AMERICAN
GENEALOGY INTEREST GROUP
(AAGIG)
MEETS ON THE THIRD TUESDAYThe AAGIG promotes the study of Black genealogy
and provides information through educational
programs on tracing African-American roots.
Tuesday, February 21
Speaker: Jodi Skipper
Topic: St. Paul United Methodist Church and
its families
St. Paul's was founded in 1873, over 133 years old.
Jodi has taken oral histories from the oldest
member and is organizing an exhibit of some
artifacts found behind the church.February TBD: Tentative plans to participate in
the Wilmer, Texas Reenactment, put on by the Acts
of Change in Lancaster.
