(CLOSED MONDAY)
Next meeting for the horse
group will be Monday Novem-
ber 27, at which time a movie jg
will be shown. JB
The wildlife group, led by fl
James Hardin, is in good W9
shape. At the meeting last
week the possibilities of
overnight campouts and fish-
ing trips were discussed. They
have many interesting pos-
sibilities. The next meeting
will be this week. Members of
the group will be notified as to
when by Hardin. A movie
about the whitetail deer will be
shown on either Monday
November 27, or Wednesday,
November 29.
The beef production project
is progressing with a lot of
enthusiasm, according to Mrs.
Connie Decker. Several of the
new members are looking for
steers and especially for good
breeding heifers. Adult and
member meetings are being
set up in the near future for
the purpose of planning and
supervising some activities.
Mrs. Mary Smith, secretary
at Burleson State Bank, will
soon be starting a project on
money management which will
most likely get into full swing
after the holiday season.
Dick Sunner will be project
leader and James Cathy will
instruct the photography
project to begin in January.
Eastman Kodak has prepared
a very fine set of text books
especially for the 4-H program.
4-H membership is available
to every boy and girl from 8 to
19. Anyone interested in 4-H
should attend the regular
monthly business meeting
Tuesday November 28 at 7:30
p.m. at the Pauline Hughes
Middle School Cafetorium.

The rejuvenated activity of
Burleson Club is moving with a
rapid and enthusiastic pace.
Over 100 youth already are
involved in the club, with the
majority of the number
actively engaged in some
project.
It is expected that after all
the planned projects get under
way the enrollment will
approximate 125. About 50
adult leaders and helpers are
concentrating on familiaring
themselves with the program
and plans for their project
groups.
The most active group to
date is the obedience training
in the dog care project. Thirty
are enrolled and have already
experienced two training
sessions under the tutorship of
Maurene Barnett of Joshua.
The next training class will
be Wednesday before Thanks-
giving at Warren Park. The
first two sessions were at
Bartlett Park, but the young-
sters now have enough control
of their dogs so classes may be
held will all the added
distractions. Anyone interest-
ed in dogs or kids is welcome
to witness the training
Wednesday, November 22
from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at
Warren Park.
According to Mrs. Donna
Hosack, project leader for the
horse group, a very enthusias-
tic group of adults is rapidly
shaping up a program for all
the youngsters interested in
horses.
It is expected that very
shortly a 4-H horse club will be
formed for the purpose of
sponsoring and managing
horse shows and contests.
