Educatiou is W. H. Snow’s life
work. Several years ago he was
Strongly u -ged to run for the the

prospect was good, but he looked
the matter squarly. in the face
and decided to stay with the
schools, a decision which he has
never regretted.
Born and reared on a farm
south of Petty, near Harmon, in
Lamar county, Prof. Snow has
been engaged in educating him-

sick, Lucian Hancook has a sick
baby, Mrs. Bob Puckett is on
the sick list. There are so many
sick we can’t tell of all, so hope
everybody will improve and wont
be any sickness next week.

Misses Lottie and Maud Mor-
ris and Ethel Arnold were in
Rugby Saturday.
Misses Mollie and Myrtle Lem-
ens aro visiting in Bogata.
As the weather was so cool Bro.
Tillman postponed his regular
appointment at the Chapel Sun-
day morning.
I must say something about
the good roads Joe Neal and his
hands have made. They have
graded the road by Morris Chap-
el until they are as smooth and
level as can be. If all the over-
seers ware like Mr. Neal we
would have good roads all over
Red Rivfer county.
John Nix returned from Ar-
kansas Sunday.
Bud and John Corley and
Misses Minnie Lea Horton and
Mittie Crump attended church
at Bogata Sunday night.
Mrs. Morris is spending the
week with her daughter, Mrs,
Sie Hubbard.
Misses Dameron and Quinton,
of Bogata were in our communi-
ty Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Harbison
spent Saturday nijgit with Ike

el, Ambia, flqxton, Deport, Pet-
ty and West Paris, making good
at every place and being offered
a renewal contract at every school
he has taught. That’s a record
worth consideration, and he
cheerfully refers the< voters to
the people of any of these com-
munities as to his ability as a
teacher and organizer and his
character .and standing as a man.
He has served twice as instruc-
tor in Bumper normals and many
times as a member of the board
of county examiners. He spent
and is ppw spending a deal of
time w|th schools over the coun-
ty, advising and encouraging
teachers, trustees and patrons
along school lines- The d uties of
the office until the schools close
will prevent him making an early
campaign (as he will not neglect
his work) but be hopes to see all
the voters before the election.]
During the school session of
190? 1908 Prof. Snow was Super-,
in ten dent of the Deport School!
and was entirely successful in
every detail of the school work.
His school term 1 ’___
brought to a close by the awful'
cyclone calamity on April 23. 19-
08. He gave cheerfully the re-
mainder of his school term, and
several weeks besides, in an effi-
cient and unselfish manner as
treasurer of the relief fund, in
endeavoring to alleviate the great
distress brought about by that; wayS been a consistent democrat
memorable disasted. He only and as such seeks the nomination
left here because he felt it his | this office.
His neighbors and friends say
that he will make a good • race
and, if elected will make a good
officer. We ask that each of our
Red River county voting friends
give his claims due consideration
before casting their ballot.
A. G. Maroney left last week
lor Pipe Bluff, Ark., where he
was joined this week by his fam-
i ily and will make h!s future
home.
