Brittany Stout for their leadership
and hard work during the week.
On the opening kickoff of the
second half, DeKalb was flagged for
holding which put the ball on the
nine-yard line. The Cooper defense
held and the Bears were forced to
punt the ball. Gunn picked up the
ball late and managed to get out of
bounds at the Bear 36. The Dawgs
failed to pick up their first down and
the ball went over to the Bears on
downs at their 31.
The Bears inarched down the
field and after a huge pick up on a
pass play, found themselves on the
one, first and goal to go. On the
next play, they scored, but the extra
point was blocked which made the
score 13-13 with 3:16 left in the third
quarter.
The Dawgs took the kick off to
the Bear 23. Four plays later, the
Dawgs had a first down at the Bear
10. On the second play from
scrimmage, Lewis found Nichols in
carrier for a two-yard loss, which
brought up second down and 8 for
a TD. On the second down play,
Tommy Daugherty intercepted the
ball in the end zone ending the
Bear’s threat.
Cooper took over at the twenty.
Gunn found room around the right
side for 23 yards and along with an
unnecessary roughness call against

The Bears were a very good
team The quarterback and the
quarterback was very good at this
option attack. He was good at faking
and hiding the ball. The first guy
the defensive rose to the occasion
many times to stop a good balanced
Bear attack. Offensive line: Craig

flagged for holding. On third down,
Lewis found Nichols who ran the
ball in for the score. The play was
good for 23 yards and six points.
The extra point was good by
Daugherty and with 5:38 left in the
game, the score was Dawgs 27—
Bears 13.
The Bears took over after the
kick at their 43-yard line It only took
them four plays and they had a first
down at the 12. Cooper was flagged
for roughing the passer, which
brought the ball to the six. On the
next play, the Cooper defense rose
Eaton, Keisten Moms, Ron Morris,
Kyle Thompson, Tommy Daugherty,
Scott Reynolds and Marquis Gunn.
Cooper can’t relax because they
take on Prairiland next week at home
followed by Redwater. Cooper
needs a win against Prairiland to
help take off some pressure. This is
a very good team, so come out and

good which made the score: Cooper
20 and DeKalb 13.
After the kick, the Bears began
the last drive of the third quarter at
their 38. After two downs, we were
in the fourth quarter of play. Facing
a third down and six. Cooper’s Eaton
downed the quarterback for a big
loss. Getting to the quarterback was
.something that had eluded the
defense until this play, which was
great timing for the Dawgs.
The Bears had to punt.
Thompson was downed at the 31 of to the occasion and dropped the ball
Cooper where the Dawgs took over
first and ten. After some good
running by Williams of some 18
