CARD OF THANKS.
We wish to thank our neighbors and
friends for the tender ministrations
to our dear mother, Mrs. S. M. Powell,
during her last hours with us. and for
the loving kindness and words of con-
solation in our hour of sorrow. We
are deeply appreciative of these many
acts of kindnesses, and especially do
we want to thank the physician who
did all that could be done co relieve
her suffering, and the kind ladies v.l
decorated her grave so sweetly with
flowers. HER CHILDREN.
A lady of the Fulbright community
who had been sick and had undergone
an operation, got out of bed one night
last week and walked to a relative’s
home at Detroit—a distance of nine
miles. She walked the entire distance
barefooted, but carried her shoes in
her hand. The cause of the lady’s
strange act is attributed to slight
mental aberration caused by ill health.
Many persons searched for her all
night. Fortunately she suffered no
ill effects from this peculiar exper-
ience.—Bogata News.
Call and see us for screen doors

ONE-ROOM CHILDREN.

children have been made for the pur-
pose of following their growth from
beginning to end, under different en-
vironment. A certain number of
these were one-room children, that
is, children of families living in ten-
ements so crowded that there was
but one room to the family. Similarly
there were two-room children, three-
room children, four-room children,
and so forth. The difference of
home accommodation marked itself
in the weight and height of the chil-
dren from start to finish. Investiga-
tion showed that the children, crowd-
ed and herded together in small liv-
ing space are handicapped in the
icontest of life; they are being pie-

are they deprived to a certain great-
er or lesser extent of the joy of life,
‘ they are also made a burden to the
community. Dark rooms, lack of
sunlight, lack of nutrition—these are
the things which breed tuberculosis,
sweeping aff men and women and
growing boys and girls, incapacitat-
ing those who survive, leaving fam-
ilies unable to support themselves,
a burden on the community and giv-
ing to little children an inheritance
of weakness which makes them mor-
ally, mentally and physically crip-
ples. That is one of the ways ot
creating your Lazarus, with his
sores, to lie at the gate of Dives.
We want to get rid of Lazarus and
we want to get rid of Dives also, for
you will have to be one as long as
you have the other.—The Christ’an
Herald.

the 1910 production by 4,137,387 bales

There are 113,962 acres of culti-
vated land in Delta county and 61,678
acres are devoted to the production of
cotton. The record shows that 54 per
cent of our improved farm land is de-
voted to cotton and it has been the
predominating crop ever since the
county was settled.
Delta county produced 43,249 bales
of cotton in 1911, which sold for
$1,946,205 against 30,337 bales
1910, i
ing an increase of 12,912 bales and a
decrease in the value of $116,711.
The average farm value of cotton was
$23.09 per bale less in 1910 than in
1911.
WARDROBE MAGNIFICENT.
Miss Adelade Irving, who will ap-
pear every night with the Torbett &
White Stock Company, has i_______
several gowns made by Worth of Par-
is, at a cost of thousands of dollars,
and will wear these during her stay
here. Those who are interested in
beautiful wardrobes will be given a
treat. The Torbett & White Stock
Company will offer for your approval
the highest royalty plays to be had
this season, such as “The
Man,” “Human Hearts,” ‘“The New
Minister,” and plays of that class and
, character, .never before shown with a
popular priced company. Mr. Tor-
bett, who is well known by the thea-
tre going public of Cooper, guarantees
the best dramatic performances ever
portrayed in Cooper, with an all star
repertoire cast, surpassed by none.
When an article is sold a druggist
who is willing to give it his personal
guarantee, it’s a mighty strong proof
of real merit.
That’s exactly the case with Dod-
son’s Liver Tone. It is a pleasant-
tasting, vegetable remedy for a slow
and sluggish liver. Since Dodson’s
Liver Tone came on the market the
sale of calomel has gone ’way down.
The reason is simply this: Dodson’s
Liver Tone is safe and harmless and
guaranteed to be satisfactory—Calo-
mel is often uncertain, sometimes dan-
gerous, and no druggist wants to
guarantee that it won’t knock you out
of a day’s work and maybe send you
to bed.
McKinney Drug Co. sells Dodson’s
Liver Tone and guarantees it. For
you and for your children, it’s a good
thing to keep a bottle always in the
house.
McKinney Drug Co. will give you
your money back if you think Dod-
son’s Liver Tone is not worth the
price. “Keep your liver working and
your liver will not keep you from
working,” is good advice to go by.
