kitchen, Nita. She is a very nice
sweet girl and 1 feel is going to be
a good weekend cook. We are
glad to welcome her. We played
bingo and Mae McDonald blacked
out. She received two extra gifts.
Delores was here to help his
mother Glenna Scott. Thursday
at 7:30 PM the Pacio Baptist
group with Bro. Eugene Adams,
Mrs. Adams, and their daughter
from Maxey to entertain us with
music and singing. After they
finished, Vickie Cline had fixed
refreshments for all. Friday,
Virginia Wright came for a visit.
The Calvary Baptist group came;

Jackson took Glenna Scott to her
doctor and Eddie Cline went to
see his doctor.
Doris and Charles McBrayer of
Edom came to visit with Melba
Jones. They had come for the
funeral of Lettie Lancaster. Doris
Alley met them here and they went
*♦ to eat. After lunch, Eddie Cline
took me for my eye check up.
Frecia was back from her
vacation and cooked for us. I saw
Jeff Powers down the hall
“ walking Mrs. Wynn. Shirley
Smith stopped in to say hello. Mr.
Earl Thomas came by for a visit
and prayer. He is doing a good
service. Mary, Billy and Dorothy
came to do nails and visit. We had
watermelon while we visited.

, to make everyone’s hair beautiful.

our new cook, training in the

USDA Creates Voluntary Register to
Reach Minority Producers
Agriculture Secretary Ann M.
Veneman announced that minority
fanners and ranchers may now join
mother and grandmother Melbi ■ new voluntary register to receive
in formation from USDA.
“The new Minority Farm Regis-
ter is an outreach tool to
underserved farmers and ranchers
who are not currently enrolled in
USDA loan, farm or conservation
programs,” said Veneman during
video taped remarks to the 37* An-
nual Meeting of the Federation of
Southern Cooperatives Land Assis-
tance Fund being held in Epes, Ala
“The Register will create a shared
outreach list that will help USDA,
community-based organizations
and minority-serving educational
institutions to communicate with
minority farmer and ranchers ”
