At a meeting of the branch of the
American committee for the relief
tn Ireland on Sunday afternoon at
St. Ignatius Academy Tians were
formulated for the raising of $19,-
000, Ft. Worth's quota of the $10,-
240,008 to be raised throughout'the
United States for the women and
children of Ireland. Hugh Nugent
Fitzgerald is chairman of this com-
mittee.
The campaign to raise the funds
will get under way Thursday, St.
Patrick's Day, when a tag day will
bo held. A committee composed of
James O'Dowd and F. A. Snakard
was appointed Sunday afternoon to
make arrangements for the tag day.
Daughters of Isabella and cither or-
ganizations will assist ih>the drive
tag day, as it is pointed out that
the purpose of the, campaign is non-
sectarian and non politico!.
An intensive campaign will be
waged from March 17 to March 27.

Travis by the Rev. Malachy O'Leary,

Rt. Rev. Arthur J. Drossaerts, D.
D., Bishop of San Antonio, was
present on this occasion aud, at the
conclusion of a very eloquent and
forceful sermon by the misatonary,
addressed the soldiers giving them
words of practical and salutary ad-
vice, and expressed his admiration
at the beautiful congregational
singing.
The Papal Blessing was imparted
by Father O’Leary, followed by
Benediction of the Blessed Sac-
rament, Chaplain Monaghan, of Kel-
ly Field, ofdciatldg. Three of the
soldiers served as acolytes; one of
whom, Sergeant Hall, received the
Croix de Guerre and the Distin-
guished Service Cross, and was cited
three times for bravery during the
late war.
An * inspiring spectacle was pre-
sented on Sunday morning when
hundreds of soldiers approached the
holy table and received their Eu-
charistic King in Holy Communion.
Particularly edifying and impres-
sive was the very largo attendance
at the Holy Hour on Saturday eve-
ning. Although alluring attractions
were at the Camp the same evening

FATHER WACK APPOINTED
A DOMESTIC PRELATE.
Last Thursday Rt. Rev. Arthur J.
Drossaerts, D. D., Bishop of San An-
tonio, received from the Holy See
a Brief appointing the Rev. J. M. J.
Wack of New Braunfels to the J le-
nity of a Domestic Prelate; with the
rank and title of Monsignor. The
bestowal of thte distinction, accord-
ing to the terms of the Brief, was
made as a reward for long and
faithful services rendered to the
i American people and; to ^Mexican
immigrants. ' -
Father Wack is one of the senior
priests of the diocese; he has been
pastor of SS. Peter and Paul’s par-
, ish at New Braunfola for many
years, and at one time7served as
~ Vicar General during the episcopate
of the late Bishop Forest; He is <
very highly esteemed, nor only by
