on beginning at 6:30 p.m. Funds
will be used by the American Can-
cer Society to combat all types of can-
cer. A large portion of funds raised
will be used in research of the kind
which resulted in a recent break-
through in leukemia.

Burleson School Board
Monday night set the date
of Tuesday, April 18, at
7:30 p.m. at the High
School for the first meet-
; ing of a citizens study
group which the board
hopes will be of assis-
, tance in long range plan-
ning.
Assistant Superintend-
ent F rank Moates presen-
ted material he and other
members of the faculty
and administrative staff
had gathered concerning
school enrollment incre-
ases, building needs and
several other items which
the board felt needed de-
tailed study.
The information will be
! prepared in booklet form
for distribution to mem-
bers of the study group,
and other information will
be given as the lay com-
mittee progresses into
studies of other school
problems.
Available to assist the
citizens in their study will
be top-level experts in
various fields of school
planning. The experts will
be provided on request of
the local district by the
North Central Texas Cen-
<- ter for Education Stervi-'w
ces. Federal grants are
available and some al-
ready have been approved
for the center’s use in
such planning and assis-
tance to various schools
in a 10-county area a-
round Dallas and Fort
Worth.

Burleson April 29
Burleson residentswill

hands with Congressman
Olin Teague on Saturday
April 29 when he and his
party stop here for a cof-
fee visit.
Burleson is one of sev-
eral towns including
Crowley and Others in the
south Tarrant C o u n ty
area on a tour promoted
by the Southern Tarrant
County Advisory Council.
Coffee in Burleson will
be sponsored by the
Chamber of Commerce
from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

be announced next week.
Later in the day a re-
ception will be held for
the congressmanatEver-

Band Department Sunday
afternoon, April 16, at
2:30 p.m. in the High
School Gym.
The concert will fea-
ture the Junior High Scho-
ol ol Concert Band, the High
School Concert Band and
the High School Stage
Band.
The public is invited to
attend. Admission will be
50 cents for adults and 35
cents for school age stu-
dents. No advance tick-
ets will be sold. All fam-
ilies holding band boost-
er memberships will be
admitted free.
