MPS, disorders affect major
organs including the brain, heart,
bones, and lungs. Affecting
mostly children, it is caused by
the body’s inability to produce
certain enzymes. Life
expectancy for children with
these disorders are varied but
children with Sanflippo Syndrome
typically only live into their teens.
At the present time there is no
cure for these disorders.

Safety and Health Week
presently agriculture is one of the most
hazardous industries in the 11nited Sates
with a death rate of 21.3 deaths per
100.000 workers and approximately
130.1X X) disabl ing injuries. This is a huge
toll with respect to the communities’
involved and national productivity of
our f(M>d supply . Agriculture has long
been one of the most hazardous
American industries. Safety and health
education can play a vital role in
reducing fatalities and injuries on the
farm.
The Delta County Farm Bureau, the
Texas F arm Bureau, and the Texas Farm
Bureau Insurance Companies join with
the National Safety Council and other
organizations in working toward the goal
of a safer farm and ranch community.
Therefore. I urge our farmers and
ranchers to focus on farm and ranch
safety and education.
