Elizabeth Ann fhurman Moss, age
76, of Sulphur Springs, Fexas and
formerly a longtime resident of Dallas,
died Wednesday. September 11,b in
Sulphur Springs, as results of a
drowning accident along w ith her great-
grandson. Corwynn Phelps Moss.
She was a native of Cooper. Texas,
the daughter of Elmer and Zula
Deatherage Thurman She was a 1942
graduate of Cooper High School and also
a graduate of East Texas State (Texas
A&M) University. Commerce
Mrs. Mosswas a retired corporate
secretary for more than 30 years with
E-Systems. She has been a resident of
Sulphur Springs since 1997. She was a
member of the Methodist Church.
She married Jon Thomas Moss, Sr.
in Hugo, Oklahoma on April IX. 1942
Survivors include her husband of
Sulphur Springs; three sons. Jon
Thomas Moss. Jr of Sulphur Springs,
William (Bill) Peyton Moss, and
Thurman Wilhite Moss, both of Dallas;
sister and her husband Karen and Fred
Partin of Sulphur Springs; and three
grandchildren Phillipa K. Moss of
Sulphur Springs, Megan Moss of
Dallas, and BJ Moss of Sulphur Springs

Episcopal Church a) 9:00 a m
Corwynn died Tuesday, in Hopkins
County Memorial Hospital He was
bom in Dallas on September 10. 2001.
Interment at Oaklawn Cemetery in
Cooper. Saturday. 14, 2002 following
services for his Great Grandmother.
Elizabeth Ann Moss, which was
scheduled for 3:00 p.m at Sulphur
Springs Church of Nazarene.
His mother. Phillippa. His Aunt
Meghan. Uncle Bntce. his Grandfather.
Jon T. Moss, Jr., and his Great
Grandfather Jon T. Moss, Sr. survive
him.
. Corwynn was a bright star that
touched the lives of everyone he met.
He never had a bad day. His smile could
power the sun. There will never be
another person in the world who brought
such joy and could open even the
New Zion Baptist

hardest of hearts. He will be sorely
missed.

Glendall Wayne Clifton. 68. died
Monday. September 2. 2002.
Mr Clifton was born November 29.
1933 in Clarksville. Fexas to Charlie and
Carrie Pickrel Clifton He was retired
from the Ideal Bread Company and a
member of the Central Baptist Church.
Prescott.
Survivors include his four sons and
three daughter-in-laws Randy Clifton
of Glenwood. Arkansas. Larry and
Cindy Clifton of Cale, Arkansas. Mike
and Mia Clifton of Emmet. Arkansas.
Bobby and leri Clifton of Hot Springs.
Arkansas; his two daughters and son-
in-laws Glenda and John Gosser of
Coppell. Texas and Kim and Marty
Curtis of Springhill. Louisiana; his
brother Lendell Clifton of Dallas: and
twelve grandchildren.
A brother. Don Clifton; a grandson.
Brandon Clifton; and two sisters, Doris
McLarty and Bill Bulin preceded him
in death.

Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with Dr.
Ken Horn officiating. Interment
followed in Resthaven Memorial Park
under the direction of Resthaven
Funeral Home of Lubbock.
She was born on August 18. 1925 in
Klondike. Texas to the late James and
Lola McGee She died on Saturday,
September 6, 2002 in Lubbock. She
was a homemaker and worked for Jug
Little’s BBQ. Two brothers proceed
her in death. She was a Baptist. She
moved to Lubbock in 1945 from
Klondike.
She is survived by six daughters

BrendaG. Kuhler of Lubbock. Paula Jo
Copps of Tequesta. Florida. Sylvia G.
Smith of St. Louis. Missouri. Rebecca
L. Martin of Amarillo, and Patricia
Dobry of Lubbock; sister Edna Louise
Davis of Odessa; nine grandchildren,
and ten great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to
Vista Family Care Hospice.
