The fourth called session of
the Texas legislature completed
its work and adjourned last Sat-

good work, but it has been a long

of petty jealousies and factional
politics at the expense of the tax-

to fix the blame on any particu-

a moral right to obstruct legisla-

Foley’s Kidney Cure will cure
any case of kidney and bladder
trouble that is not beyond the
reach of medicine. No medicine
can do more.
One of the woist features of
kidney trouble is that it is an in-
sidious disease and before the
victim realizes his danger he may
have fatal malady. Take Foley’s
Kidney Cure at the first sign of
trouble as it corrects irregulari-
ties and prevents Bright’s disease
land diabetes.

~ There is no doubt but Senator
Lorimer purchased his sent in the
United States Senate and Roose-
velt treated him right in refusing
to attend a banquet where he was,1
but Roosevelt him-elf having
trained with the notorious Boss
Platt and Mark Havanna, was
as inconsistent in this action as he
wae recently when he railed:
againt corporations contributing!
to campaign funds, when he per-
sonally solicited campaign con-
tributions from large corporations i
for his own campaign in 1904.
“Consistency, thou art a jewel.”
'Ihe only good thing we ever
heard of Governor Patterson of I ra e n
Tennessee doing was his resigning field of “Wireless” or Rai I wav
as a democratic candidate for re- telegraphy. Since the eighth
election as governor for the third hour law became effective, and
term. He was elected over Car-since the wireless companies are
mick by the whiskey interests of establishing stations throughout
the state, and since has encour- the country there is a great short-
aged murder and lawlessness, un- a£e °F telegraphers. Positions
til a large faction of the demo-
cratic yartv were forced to fuse
with the republicans in order to
defeat him. In a recent election
of supreme judges the Patterson
candidates were badly defeated,
so with nothing but defeat star-
ring him in the face he has with
drawn from the lace. It is lyc
.hoped that the democrats will
yet have time to unite on a demo-
cratic candidate for governor and
elect him. President Taft’s at-
tempt to assist the republicans of
the state by appointing negroes
to federal positions will have a
tendency to unit* the democratic
factions.
Dr. Gregory, a veterinary of
Fort Worth, was in Cooper the
past week and did a big practice.
He left Thursday for his home to
practice, after which be will re-
