It is said that the newspapers give
the people what they want to' read.
If this is true, the trend of publw:
interest may be surmised from the f'ol
lowing analysis of the front page or
a widely circulated daily. Thirty-
three articles were distributed thus:
Air Transportation 10; The Weather
Crime nnd Suicide 3; War 3; Prom
inent Persons, Jewish Welfare, Auto
Accidents, Fires, 2 each; Russia, Pro-
hibition, New Babies, Missing Men.
The League of Nations, 1 each.

"Sons 0' Guns" on Broadway, seats
wit re sold out for two months in ad-

the State Fair, in opening the State

that he wanted to give out-of-town

The latest bid for publicity comes
from a couple who drove their car
backward from New York to Los An-

may be in the same condition as de-
cadent Greece, where, according to a
classic authority, "the Athenians and
strangers which were there spent
their time in nothing else, but. either
to tell or to hear some new thing.
