that no Sac and Fox Indian ever
dreads a snake, centipede, tarrantnla,
or any poisonous insect's bite In this
region. The antidote grows on the
hilly prairies. Tbs herb grows about
one foot high, has white flowers and a

cured taught his master the value ol
the never-falling curative powers of

RrnweS Any Caasntatiea,
New York. Ang. 23.—A dispatch to ;
The World from San Sebastian. Spain,
refers to the definite appointment of
General Azcarraga as prime minister
i and says:
The cabinet it Is understood win fol-
low the main ’Ines of the policy of
the dead premier, both at home an* In
the colonics and will do the best to ob-
tain the support of all the groups of the
conservative party without distinction.
General Axcarraga has no 111 feeling
towards America. He has always been
on friendly terms with Minister Tay-
lor, and is a traveled and enlightened
offleer.
He had two long Interviews with the
. queen regent before his appointment.
' I They were discussing the relations be-
[ tween the United States and Spain oa
’ j account of the approaching arrival of
. General Woodford, the new American
minister. When be comes the new
government will be obliged to let the
nation know the whole truth regarding
those relations ant! th* purport of Gen-
eral Woodfordfo instructions.
This Is the feature of the crisis which
I causes the graveat anxiety to an Span-
I tah statesmen and generals.
The queen and General Azcarraga
considered whether it would be wise
to intrust a provisional Conservative
cabinet and the bitterly divided Con-
servative party with a mission requir-
ing prestige and authority for its ano
cesaful fulfillment—on the one hamt
to persevere in the task of crushing
colonial inMurrectlons and on the other
to present a bold front towards the
United States, with a view to adopting
every possible means to resist foreign
Interference in Cabs. The minister of
war declared himself ready to assume
the reaponsibilltlea of premier if the
quern appealed to his Patriotism and
loyalty, and stated that he had received
from Marshals Blanco. Campoa and Lo-
