26 member panel of American-
Asifen newscasters board. Her
graphic report of such a panel
of newscasters made a most in-
teresting program. Bobbie told
of some of the behind the
scenes “ftinnies” or “tragedys”
that happen to TV performers
and completely captivated her
audience.
Miss Ruby Robbins presided
at the meeting. The program
chairman for the evening was
Mrs. George Ayers. Mrs. Les-

Another bronze tablet points
out that as Texas became more
populated the old Butterfield
stagecoach lines linking east to
west became a vital media of
communication through travel
and mail service.
The open ranges of Texas
cattle country made necessary
the registration of cattle brands
for proof of ownership. A
marker outside the branding
irons exhibit serves as a re-
minder of leaders who contri-
buted to the growth of Texas.
There is a marker for the
two authentic steam engines
originally built in 1887 and
1903. They were carefully re-
stored by engineers at SIX
FLAGS Over Texas in 1961.
Trains such as these transport-
ed passengers, crops and thous-
ands of cattle over narrow-
gauge railways through Texas
territory.
The carousel, made popular in
Texas by traveling shows and
carnivals, is cited as being of
greht value in the celebration
of ijiew townsites and boomtown
pro (notions.
