son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
C. Dunham, 304 SW Gamble,
Burleson, was promoted recent-
ly to Army specialist four while
serving with the 20th Engineer
Brigade in Viet Nam.
Spec. 4 Dunham is a supply
clerk in Company A of the
brigade’s 169th Engineer Bat-
talion at Long Binh Post. He
entered the Army in July 1969,
completed basi ctraining at Ft.
Bliss, Texas, and was last sta-
tioned at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz.
The 21-year-old soldier’s wife,
Bonnie, lives at 228 N Com-
merce, Burleson.

Visitors in the home of Mrs.
Grover C. Beavers last Friday
were her four daughters, Mrs.
Frank Van Trease and Mrs.
Stanley Keys of Deer Park,

and was appointed a warrant
completion of the
wing aviator.

He bagan his 36 weeks of in-
struction with 20 weeks of pre-
liminary training at the Army
Primary Helicopter School, Ft.
Wolters, Tex. The remaining
16 weeks of training were con-
ducted at Ft. Rucker, where he
was taught tactical instrument
flying, aircraft systems, tacti-
cal maneuvers, and survival and
aerial suppressive fire tech-
niques.
His wife, Rebecca, lives at 408
Vaden Ave., Everman, Texas.

role in a joint Army-Air Force

personnel from the U. S. Army
Flight Training Center and Ft.
Stewart, Ga., who took part in
Exercise Bold Shot-Brim Fire
5-70 conducted by the U. S.
Strike Command, MacDill Air
Force Base, Fla.
The week-long exercise was
designated to acquaint the par-
ticipating Army and Air Force
units with procedures for evac-
uating U. S. citizens from a
foreign country.in time of
emergency. Sgt. Chapman acted
as a civilian evacuee.
The “evacuees” were airlift-
ed from Hunter Army Airfield,
Savannah, Ga., by an Air Force
transport aircraft to Ft. Camp-
bell, Ky., where they were pro-
cessed and then returned to
Ft. Stewart.
Sgt. Chapman is a training
noncommissioned officer with
the 110th Quartermaster Com-
pany at Ft. Stewart.
His wife, Delight, is with
him at the fort.
