central Franklin County. In
this vicinity, in IBM, a one
room school house was said to
have stood, with a Wilford
Ferrell as teacher, which was
called Bluff Springs as well as
Shady Grove. In UM the
school was torn down, and a
two room structure was
erected Just east of the former
site, nearer the hub ot the
community
Known to have taught at the
school is Fannie Majors, Eva
Rountree, Kater Shelby,
Charles Shelby, Mai Moore,
Jewel McLoud, Ella Mae
Cachran, Elinor Williams,
Jim Kidwell, S.O. Loving,
Annie Howard and Bernice
Smith.
Many people are of the
belief that the name of Majors
