September 10 at Franklin
County Hospital. He was born
May 10, 1909 in Franklin
County, the son of R.B. and
Blanche Veasey Hunt. He
married the former Dorthy
Rawlins July 1, 1947 in Paris
He was a member of the
Church of God.
Survivors included his
widow; three daughters, Mrs
Gay Steelman of Dallas, Mrs
Darlene Mahoney of Buchanan
Dam and Mrs. Sharon Bauman
of Overland Park, Kansas; his
mother, Mrs. Blanche Hunt of
Purley; two step-children, Mrs
Betty Carter of Midland and
Bill Hunt of Denver City; two
bYothers, Robbie Wayne Hunt
of Mt. Vernon and Marion Hunt
of Grand Junction, Colorado
eleven grandchildren and one
great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Leon Keith,
Gary Keith, Gene Tanton, Ray
Joyner, Lawrence Carter and
Park Davis.

FHA Meeting
Held Here
The first FHA meeting was
held on Wednesday, September
17, 1975. Aproximately 75
attended this meeting.
President Jerri Orren and
Vice President Tammy Shu-
mate presided over the
meeting. The rules and
regulations were read by
Parlimentarian Susan Holder.
During the meeting the FHA
officers discussed the rules,
membership drive, initiation
dues and the future activities
for the year. A trip to the State
Fair was also discussed.
The FHA officers will host a
wiener roast which is scheduled
to be held on Wednesday,
September 24 at the Cypress
Spring Lake. The cost is 25
cents per person. It is hoped
that each and every person
wishing to join FHA will attend.

Elected
An election was held recently
to determine representatives to
the Student Council at Mt.
Vernon High School. The
representatives were elected
by their fellow classmates in
each of their respective
classes
Elected were Tammie
Shumate, Mark Hare, Vicki
Young, senior class; Lloyd
Stone, Mark Walling, Don Carr,
junior class; Pam Borden,
Pam Dickson, Brad Lowry,
sophomore class; Tim Bass,
Johnny DeBusk, Liz. Holt,
freshman class.
All expressed their appreci-
ation on being selected and
hoped to serve well.

The girls participsted in
various craft workshops, folk
dancing and games. The theme
for the day was "Explore Your
Heritage". .
The Brownies’ entry in the
banner contest was a First''
Place, blue ribbon, winner. The
Juniors’ banner entry depicting
“Use Resources Wisely” won
Honorable Mention.

garden party and a wedding
rehearsal dinner
A bountiful buffet was served
to members of the wedding
party and familes of the bride
and groom. Guests were seated
at individual party tables
covered with cloths of yellow
with a white lace trim The
tables were decorated with
candles and fresh daisies, the
bride's chosen flowers.
