Sore Throat Called
Sign of Illness

causing sore throat When
these organs repeatedly
cause trouble, they arc re-
moved. Tonsil-adenoid re-
movals. while not per-
formed as often as in the
past, remain a major part
of all surgery performed
on young children Some-
times the removal helps the
sore throat, sometimes it
doesn't.
The American Medical
Association points out that
allergies can cause sore
throats Cold, dry winter
air can trigger it. So can
extreme thirst, excessive
smoking or mouth breath-
ing Anything that dries out
the throat and cuts off
