People ask, “What kind of a
guy is Hope?>» “Is he for real?”
Bob Hope is one of the most
wonderful and congenial people
I ever hope to have the pleasure
of meeting. He is just as en-
tertaining off stage as on. He
sincerely enjoys what he is
doing and if he ever gets tired
he doesn’t show it. He is an
extremely professional person
and expects a lot from his cast
and crew, but gives no less in
return.

Far beyond my wildest
dreams was the fact that I
could ever have the pleasure of
working with the Bob Hope
Christmas Show. Every year for
many years back I have sat in
front of the TV and laughed and
wept at the sight of Mr. Hope
and this troupe entertaining the
GI’s overseas. This year my
wife and I were a small part of
this endeavor.
My official title was the co-
ordination officer attheEarwan
Hotel where the cast stayed in
Bangkok. Because of this I was
privileged enough to meet and
become acquainted with the
wonderful people that make the
trip. The “stars” were Hope,
Phil Crosby, Barbara McNair,
Rapuel Welch, Elaine Dunne,

In a 7 p. m. ceremony Fri-
day, Dec. 29, Miss Glenda Jo
Rees became the bride of Carl
B. Bradley. Rev. Henry Par-
menter, pastor of the First
Methodist Church, Westbrook,
officiated at the double-ring
rites which were held in the
church.
Miss Rees is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Rees, West-
brook, and Bradley is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Carl (Banty)
Bradley, Knox City.
Given in marriage by
father, the bride wore
street-length dress of bonded
white crepe with long sleeves
and empire waistline. A single
strand of pearls and a shoulder
length veil attached to a cluster
of small white satin roses com-
pleted her attire. Her corsage
was a white scattered mum with
seed pearls.
Miss Dolores Thomas of
Palinview attended the bride as
maid of honor. Her dress was
street-length and made of fern
green wool mohair. She wore a
white carnation corsage.
A dinner for the families of
the bride and groom was held
prior to the wedding in the home
of the bride’s parents.
After a short wedding trip to
Abilene, the couple is at home

Phil CrOsby is quite re-
miniscent of hid dad. He is
an eager young man, anxious
to please and a darn fine en-
tertainer.
Barbara McNair, besides be-
ing a tremendous individual, is
a singer that won’t quit. She is
a beautiful Negro girl that the
GI’s absolutely loved.
Raquei Welch is the sexiest
thing you ever laid eyes on and
amazingly enough, is very talent
ed. Her husband, Patrick Curtis
made the trip also and is an
exceeding nice individual.
Elaine Dunn is a perky
little brunette that does stage
work. She’s a singer and dancer
that really wowed the troops.
Earl Wilson is a famous
movie columnist that did
comedy routine with Hope,
very nice individual.
MjSs World, Macjeline Hartog
Bel, spoke very little English,
but that didn’t stop her. She is
an absolutely exquisite person
that drove the troops wild.
The trip would not be the same
without Les Brown. His “Bandof
Reknown” really livened the
show.
My wife, Diane, traveled with
the show in Thailand as ward-
robe mistress. She became
very well acquainted with the
cast and the crew. It was an
experience she will never for-
get. She didn’t get a chance to
go to viet Nam with them. We
both went to Ubon with the show.
This is an AFB about 25 miles'
from the Laotian border. T^ese
pilots are right in the thick
of it. Their response to the show
was fantastic. I dare any of you
to hear them sing,“Silent Night’
with Barbara McNair and not
get a little bleary eyed.
Affer this experience all I
can say is “God bless BobHope
and may he live to be 150
years of age!”
